VOLUNTEER ENTRY INFO. FOR CALIFORNIA'S LONGEST PARTY THANKS FOR VOLUNTEERING (even at 2 am, OUCH!) Exchanges are properties where one walker passes the baton to the next walker. Exchange addresses are available on maps. Although walkers travel Legs 13-36, walk volunteers may choose assignments at Exchanges 1-36. Use the table below as a guide to determine where and when to volunteer. For example, there are no shifts on Saturday in Santa Cruz County because walkers are in Marin, San Francisco and San Mateo Counties on Saturday.
At Canada College (Exchange 24 - open during the night for breakfast, showers and sleeping), two volunteer locations. Shift A, B and C volunteers report to the Canada College cafeteria to help with food preparation. Shift D and E volunteers report to Canada Rd. to manage runners during the baton exchange. |
